Nyagashanga Suspension Bridge

Almost a quarter of a billion people around the world can't safely access critical resources like healthcare, education, or employment due to an impassable river. For 2,300 of them living in rural southern Rwanda, a brand-new footbridge is already changing lives and creating opportunities.

Earlier this month, volunteers from NSBA, four state DOTs, High Steel, Nucor, HDR, Modjeski & Masters, and Rosewich Engineering constructed an 85-meter footbridge near Muhanga, Rwanda on behalf of Bridges to Prosperity (B2P). See the new Nyagashanga Suspension Bridge next to the old river crossing with our puzzle of the week at aisc.org/puzzles.

Learn more about NSBA's proud involvement with B2P--including videos of past builds--at aisc.org/b2p. Keep an eye out for this year’s B2P video in the coming weeks!
